Real Love Radio

Whilst looking through some backup tapes off the onepound mainframe computer we found a recording of a radio show we did for Real Love Internet Radio from 2007. This has DJB playing some Kool and the Gang, Sly Stone, Eddie Bo and Headhunters and Becky treats us to some rarer cuts.

Christmas Viewing

Amoeba record shop in Hollywood do like Vic and Bob on Shooting Stars and ask various celebs 'what's in the bag?'.

Got to have some Hip Hop movies over crimbo as I always remember seeing Wildstyle around that time on TV.
This is part 1 of Stylewars creater Henry Chalfant's All City.

It's time to chill with T LA Rock.

Freddie Fender

Freddie, also known as the El Bebop Kid, was a Mex/Tex rock 'n' roller who crooned his way out of the barrio and into the charts via the marines. This Lp features one of his biggest hits 'Wasted Days 'N Wasted Nights'. It seems to be a Mexican release titled 'Noches Y Dias Perdidos' so how it found its way into a charity shop in North Watford I'll never know (he looked so cuddly I couldn't just leave him there). I'm actually feeling some of the R'n'B, capably performed on here, but it's on the track 'Someday' posted here that his backing band stray into the funky side of town. The overall sentiment of the tune is pretty menacing considering how chirpy the horn driven groove is.

Thought I'd inject some style and glamour into the blog in the form of a screenshot of Debbie Harry in the Blondie video for Heart of Glass off the tellybox. Ooohhaaaooowoah
